Conceptual serie „Alamanni“ (Alamanns Theme)

2002-...

The series „Alamanni“ brings to life the folklore, the rituals and the culture of the Alamanns tribes of the 3rd to the 8th century, in an exciting and thrilling way. The separate works are artistic translations and interpretations of my research.

For the first time in my artistic history, my usual visualization was insufficient which is why I incorporated performance art into my work.

Alamanni – A Norn Play, 2003/2004

Musical – an original piece about destiny and identity in a fast paced play of people with very different motivations! This piece offers lots of entertainment, but also contains a deeper meaning. Music by Martin Weber.

Alamanni – Caracalla's Legacy (2005-...)

In comparison to the Norn Play, this piece is a little bit harder to digest: Using what I know about that time, I tell the story of Wignand and his people. This play is still incomplete and will, due to the difficult and time consuming research, stay incomplete for quite some time.
