Conceptual art exhibit on the occasion of the European Football Championship 2008 by Ilona Griss-Schwärzler and Martin Stock (mashART).

Football is one of the most popular and widely spread sports in the world. According to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) the sport is played by over 265 Mill. people in over 200 countries.
38 Million of them play in 325,000 organized clubs.

One must understand football, apart from the game,
as a positive cultural, historical, social, and especially
a socio-political phenomenon.
