Creative artists in profile

Art is effective... and has to produce an effect from within itself, both directly and indirectly. When we confront ourselves with an art work, we are also developing our own world in the process. By means of stimuli and facets of the piece, we move from our own view of things to a new own view.

This section of our website is devoted to artists from a wide range of creative fields, with whom we have already successfully collaborated and whom we value highly - largely thanks to stimuli or facets of their work... for our new own view of things.

» ANDREAS ENDER (Photography)

On 1 May 2011, Hohenems photographic artist Andreas Ender was awarded the internationally recognised MFIAP title for his project “paperbag [reBORN]”. This master title is bestowed by FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique) whose aim is to promote photographic art under all its aspects and by all kinds of photographic events. Since 1980, this marks the fifth time that the international honour has gone to Austria. In 2011, 24 concepts, each with a portfolio of over 20 photos were submitted to the international 8-person jury. Nine photographic artists worldwide were given the title.

Ilona Griss-Schwärzler is represented by the following galleries:
• Bertrand Kass (Innsbruck)
• Galerie planet vivid (Frankfurt)
• Hospiz Galerie (Bregenz)

» JAROSLAV M. HLADKY (photo graphics)

“Many artists like to misunderstand the deep meaning of the word beauty! They prefer to devote themselves to engaged social criticism, address political problems... and in so doing sometimes adopt an almost brutal, aggressive or provocative form of communication... The depiction of beauty is a key element of my artistic endeavours – so are reduction, simplification.”

Jaroslav Hladky died in October 2011.
For us, he lives on through his work.

» SERGEY METELSKIY (concert pianist)

It was the composer Velerij Petasch who in 1996 committed Sergey Metelskiy to several concerts in Germany and in so doing showed him the way to Vorarlberg. In 1997 began his continuing studies in Feldkirch, which he graduated from with honors in 2003. Vorarlberg is to this day his home of choice.

» VORHOF2 (BAND)

VORHOR2 – Jürgen Ludescher, Vera Prantl und Martin Stock – are best described by the term “young Austrians”. They write their own songs – in German. The young female singer’s voice is unusually tender and charming... but at the same time very striking. The arrangements are often quite playful – string instruments are frequently used to great effect. And the lyrics are somehow reminiscent of German Romanticism.
