Trailer for the DVD “Clades Variana 09”

In June of last year we documented the “Germanic Tribe and Roman Days 2009” in the Kalkriese Museum and Park near Osnabrück (D) from the perspective of the players on behalf of COMITATUS (network for historical players and groups focusing on ancient Germanic culture around the time of Christ’s birth). The planned DVD was recently completed and holds many memories of a sensational event.

The DVD was produced from some 8 hours of HD film material and over 1,000 photographs as a memento for the “Romans” and “Germanic tribes” who took part in the event. In addition to an overview of the camp shared by all the participants as well as footage of the experimental ritual performance by conceptual artist Martin Stock (mashART) and of the battle reenactment, we also succeeded in creating our crowning achievement – after the style of a "director's cut" – using some specially recorded scenes where there is no audience and virtually no sign of modern civilisation to be seen.

We have been given permission to make the DVD trailer available to the public... and that’s exactly what we have done – on YouTube (mashart01). So have fun watching it!
